Sam Stevens asked:
Got Video? What can video do for your business? People love to watch video. TV. Movies. And of course, online video. Ever here of YouTube? People want to be entertained. The key to utilizing video in your business is to learn how to educate your customers and prospects while entertaining them. Making a good marketing video for example is a matter of telling a story with a call to action at the end. For a marketing professional, that is a piece of cake. But getting your video on your website, on a streaming platform, on a video sharing site like YouTube.com (and there are literally hundreds more!) takes knowledge. Knowing the difference between an MP4, an MOV, an FLV and all the other technical details you need to know about putting web video on line can be daunting to say the least. I want to show you how easy it can be with just a few simple tools and tricks of the trade.
Have you learned by now the many benefits of using video on the web as a form of advertising to generate more profits for your business? If so, you are probably wondering how to get started. Will you market the video by yourself, on your own website? Or will you hire an agency to market it for you. Or do you have yet another strategy. Let’s look at the options.
You can base your video publishing success on the statistics you receive about your video. If for example you are advertising on Google, you will get detailed stats about the amount of times your video was viewed and thus how much you will have to pay. Google will share some of that with the publishing websites where you video was placed. This is common internet advertising practice.
Testing your video marketing results is imperative to your success. First you should know how many people click on your video. If you are advertising on more than one site, and one site performs better than another based on the stats, you may want to consider reallocating your advertising dollars differently. If Google places your ad on a blog for instance, and it is getting little or no activity, it would be true that you owe them less in fees, but it also means that no one is watching your ad on that page. When you test and keep track of statistics regarding ad views, you can determine which sites are the most effective with your advertising dollar and which sites are not.
When promoting your own video on your own website, you should test by starting with a baseline of traffic stats. Then use your log files or better still, an analytics package such as Google Analytics, to see if the video is making a difference. Chances are it will. There are also online software solutions that track how often your video is accessed on your site. If you notice that it is being viewed frequently, but the views are not converting your visitors into customers, it is a good bet that you have a great video, you just may want to market it on different sites. If you see only a few people are viewing your video ad on your web page, you may want to try changing you video to one that will garner more attention. This is one way you can determine just how good your video really is. Google Analytics is one of the best ways to track web activity on your sites.
You can also decide to promote your video on one of the many video sharing sites, such as You Tube. Each video shows how many views it has had and if it has been rated by viewers. People often will leave comments on your video. If you come up with something unique or entertaining, you may find your video at the top of the popularaity charts and getting 1,000s of views a day. This does not necessarily translate into 1000’s of customers, but it is likely that you may get some fresh visitors to your web page.
So which direction you decide to pursue may depend on how much funding you can afford to spend on advertising. If you have a substantial budget for advertising, you may want to begin by hiring someone that specializes in video ads to come up with a clever video for your campaign. If you do hire out the video production, make sure you purchase the rights to the video so that you can control its distribution. Many advertising companies will insist on retaining the rights. These rights are something that can and should be negotiated ahead of time with the company or individual you hire to create the video.
If you use music in your video creation you will probably need to pay a licensing fee. Often times you can find music clips that are in the public domain, which you are generally free to use anyway you like. Keep in mind that with any public domain work, you should always consult with legal counsel on how you can use the piece. Such a license to use music is called a synchronization license and is usually obtained from the publisher. They will charge by the number of seconds the song is used in the ad in addition to how often the ad is used. This means that you will be paying your advertiser for each view of your video AND you will also be paying the creator of the musical work. The amount of the synchronization license depends on how popular the song is. You can negotiate the fee yourself or hire an attorney to handle the negotiations for you.
There are also many sites such as www.MusicBakery.com that allow you to purchase a license for a one time fee, where you will not have to pay the publisher a royalty for each viewing of your video. These are called “royalty free” music sites.
Another site you may want to look into is www.TubeMogul.com. This is a video publishing site where you can setup a basic account for free and publish to many different video sharing sites. The beauty about this site is that you can use its tracking features to track video views and see which sharing site is performing better.
The point of this is that video is showing up in a big way on the internet today. Web video is being used to convey messages, teach or train your customers, market to your prospects and of course entertain your visitors.

thanksday asked:
Share my way of free download videos and songs into video player from Internet
When I come to some other community like answers.yahoo, I always see someone ask the same question: How to get videos or free download videos from Internet into their iPod, iPhone, Sansa, PSP or some other popular players. Right now I own an iPod Touch 2. With my funniest iPod I enjoy my favorite movies like Gone with Wind, Ironman, The Dark Knight etc and other 180 songs. So you may wonder how did I get so much beautiful movies and songs into my player. In the below I will share my experience with you so that you can get video and songs you want in your portable player.
I get all the videos and songs from Internet. There are many free resources on Internet that you can download. I usually download movie and music from those famous video website such as Youtube, Google video, Yahoo video. There are also many other free website for you to download videos such as Hulu, MySpace, Reuters, Metacafe, Break, Dailymotion, iFilm, Music, StreetFire, etc. Of course you may select videos according to your interest. For example, you can get more videos about International news, financial information and trading products information on Reuters.com. On Hulu.com you may get more TV shows and movies from NBC, FOX and many other networks and studio, but Hulu videos are currently offered only to users in the United States. For metacafe, I like the short entertainment video on it, which is really funny. Youtube, Yahoo and Google display a wide variety of video content, you may search movie clips, TV clips, music videos you want and free download it into your computer.
Ok, after surf on Internet, now you must harvest lots of videos in your computer. Next you need to transfer these videos into your portable player. You may find that most of your videos are flv format files. So you need to transfer your videos with a flv video converter. What I use is Nidesoft FLV Converter, probably the best flv converter available. You may free download its trial version on its official website to have a try.
The free trial version can convert video for 2 minutes, you may free try it first. If you like it you may go to its official website to buy it for full version.
Download Nidesoft FLV Converter (free trial version) and install.
Then you may transfer your videos from computer into portable player in the below step by step way.
Step 1: open the program, click “continue trial” to begin.
Step 2: add your flv files into the program:
click the “add” button and select your downloaded flv videos from your computer. Of course, you may select several video files and convert them at one time. You may also preview your video on the right screen: select video and then press the play button then you will view your video.

Step 3: Click “format” drop-down list to select format of your videos. Here I suggest you select format according to your player. For instance, I select “iPod Touch Video MPEG-4 (*.mp4)” for my iPod Touch videos. If you want to convert videos into Xbox, then you should select “Xbox 360 Video – Windows Media Video (*.wmv)”.

Step 4: Click “convert” button to start conversion. Then process would be completed in few minutes, then drag them into your player and enjoy.
Besides video, you could also get cool ringtone for your iPhone, Palm, Blackberry and other mobile phone in this way. Free download music videos on Internet, then extract audio from the flv video file with Nidesoft FLV Converter in the above way, but pay attention to the output format, here you should select a audio format supported by your mobile phone such as “MP3 – MPEG Layer-3 Audio (*.mp3)”.
Ok, that’s all my way and you could have a try. Below are some problems I have encountered. Maybe you will have the same problems. Here are my solutions:
Q: Does the software contain virus? Is it safe to install and uninstall?
A: I download the software from its official website and install it in my computer. For nearly two month, I have never found any virus. So I am very sure it is safe. However if you downloaded it from somewhere else on the web then I am not sure. Probably malware/spamers have uploaded it onto sites to snag people. So always make sure you download things from their original website, or from a trusted location like download.com, and always run antivirus and scan stuff you are installing.
Q: What tools should I use to download videos from Internet?
A: There are many free video downloader you may get on Internet. For example, you may go to http://www.videodl.org/ to free download Youtube video, Google video and Break video. http://keepvid.com can do the same job. Just google it you may find different downloaders to download different videos.
Q: Some movies are split into several clips by uploader, and I want to merge those video clips into one whole movie. How to do that?
A: You can do it with while convert your flv videos. After add your videos on the flv converter, select your videos, click the blank box before “Merge into one file”, then those video clips will convert into one video.
Q: What is flv? Sometimes I met some special flv files that could not played on my player, why?
A: Flv is a file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player. It is widely used on Internet, notable users of flv format include YouTube, Google video, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com, metacafe and many other providers. Beside the commend flv format, there are other four new flv files format including f4v, f4p, f4a, f4b. Flash player does not check the extension of the file, so these special formats could not played on your player.
Q: How to do with those special flv format files, are there any special players or other solutions?
A: In fact this FLV Converter could also work as a super flv player. You may preview the flv movie before convert. And with the powerfule decoder, it could decode all kinds of flv format, including those special formats. After add your flv file, you just need to select your flv files then click the play button to preview your videos on the right screen.
Ok, those are all the information I want to share. Now you may follow my way to get videos and ringtones for your iPod, Iphone, PSP, Zune, Sansa, mobile phone and all other popular players. If you still have questions, post here!

Review Host asked:
Are you an individual who loves using the internet? If so, what do you use the internet for? Many individuals use the internet to do homework, to do work, to research a particular topic, to shop online, or even for entertainment purposes. If you are an individual who loves using the internet for entertainment purposes, there is a good chance that you have heard of Google Video before. If you haven’t heard of Google Video before, you are encouraged to familiarize yourself. Google Video is one of the best ways to seek entertainment online http://www.saless.info
Google Video, as you can probably tell by the name, is an online video website. Online video websites are rapidly increasing in popularity and so is Google Video. With online video websites, in the general sense, you are able to view free online videos, buy online videos that may be available for sale, or make, upload, and share your own homemade videos. Of course, different online video websites have different rules and restrictions; however, you will find that Goggle Video allows you to do most of the things mentioned above.
With Google Video, it is encouraged to that you register with the program. Registration is free and will only take a few minutes of your time. As with many other online video websites, you will have more access to special features once you are officially registered. Although you will not need register with Google Video or sign into your account to watch a free video, you will need to if you want upload your own video or buy a video that is available for sale. Buy a video for sale? If you are wondering why it is not completely free to use Google Video, you are not alone.
A large number of online video website are completely free to use, so why isn’t Google Video? When it comes to online videos, there is something that you need to know. Online users can post their own videos online because they own the rights to do so, but the same cannot be said for many movies, music videos, and television shows. With Google Video, you may be able to find a select number of free television shows, movies, and music videos, but most you need to pay for. This is perfectly normally considering it is illegal to post videos online without first getting permission or paying for the copyright.
With most other online video websites, you can easily search for videos, to watch for free or to buy, by performing a search. Once at the main Google Video webpage, you should be able to use the search function to find whatever you are looking for, whether it be a how-to video, a recap of your favorite television show, or your favorite music video. The good thing about Google Video is that you will know right away whether or not you must pay to see a particular video. This may help to prevent you from getting excited that you found your favorite television show online, only to later learn that you must pay for it.
As previously mentioned, Google Video also allows you to make, upload, and share your own videos with other internet users. Making, uploading, and sharing your videos with other Google Video users is as easy at it could be. In most cases, you will need to load your video onto your computer, edit it if you want, save it in one of the many accepted movie formats, and then upload it to the Google Video system. In a few simple steps, you could be well on your way to sharing your video with the rest of the world.
If you are interested in learning more about uploading and sharing your own videos or if you want to watch free online videos, you will want to visit the Google Video website. That website can be found at http://video.google.com/.

Solomon Rothman asked:
We are currently only in the beginning of the internet television revolution and new sites offering the ability for anyone to upload video clips and share them with the world are popping up left and right. If you’re a content producer and looking to get thelargest number of people to see your work, you’ll have to submit it to each site individually.
With Internet television in it’s infancy there is no large audience overlap, some people like youtube, while others prefer yahoo or google video and others are involved with vidilife or daily motion. Plan on submitting your clips individually to each of the sites listed below. Although each video distribution site offers basically the same functionality of clip sharing, they contain distinct differences in everything from audience demographic and social networking features to traffic levels and commercial options.
I’ve expanded upon each one’s unique features and major shortcomings below. They are listed in order of estimated popularity taken from Alexa Traffic Rankings on July 29, 2006
1. YouTube ( Alexa Traffic Rank #16)The largest video distribution site on the Internet. Contains the most sorting options, by group, channel, category, most viewed, best rated, worst rated, and a lot more. Largest selection of videos, profile pages, and subscription options. Public stat reporting and viewing history.
Major Shortcomings
10 minutes video length limit on regular accounts and no ability for users to download videos.
2. Google Video (Alex Traffic Rank unknown, but google.com is #3) Private stat reporting, ability for users to download videos in multiple formats including putting them on their IPOD or PSP. Custom video player and upload tool. Integrated with standard Google account.
Major Shortcomings
No user’s profile page, no ability to subscribe to a certain user’s video, limited video sorting options (only top 100 and movers and shakers, and by subject). Video thumbnails taken at random from beginning of video clip.
3. Yahoo Video (Alex Rank is unknown, but yahoo.com is #1) Integrated with standard Yahoo account and messenger service. Profile pages, subscribe able user channels. The search feature brings up results from videos hosted on yahoo video and videos on other video distribution sites. Adult and regular content.
Major Shortcomings
Can’t save videos to your local computer.
4. AOL Uncut Video (Alexa Traffic Rank is unknown, but aol.com is #35) Lots of traffic, User profile integration with AIM, giving you lots of profile options.
Major Shortcomings
7 min length maximum for video clips. User’s can’t save clips to their local computer.
5. Ifilm (Alexa Traffic Rank #863) Upload via web. Adult and regular content. Lots of contests to enter and other promotions (site is owned by MTV)
Major Shortcomings
Extremely small video descriptions of only 255 characters. Lots of commercials and ads on website and tons of junk content. Limited profile pages, no subscription options or ability to download individual clips.
6. Daily Motion (Alexa Traffic Rank #1,376) Has more channels then other providers and allows for regular and adult content. Public stats and no length limit on clips. Options to send videos directly from webcam, mobile phone or e-mail. Video size limit is 150 MB which is higher then most of it’s competitors. Daily motion is based in , so it’s has large audience outside of the and less overlap of videos from other sites like YouTube. Advanced user subscription options including RSS, podcast RSS, and video roll RSS. Active community features with groups and favorites.
Major Shortcomings
Users can’t save videos to their local computer.
7. Vidilife (Alexa Traffic Rank #1,583) No video length limits or size limits. Share photos and videos from the same site. Download videos and see public stats, lots of community features like messaging, friends, and blogs. Site contains lots of other features like bulletin, video mail, shoutouts, quizzes, gifts, contest and casino video games that users can play with site currency called vidi$ You can earn vidi$ by commenting on videos and doing other community and site building tasks. Sub domain custom urls for your videos youname.vidilife.com.
Major Shortcomings
There are a lot of videos on the site compared to their traffic levels, so even the most viewed videos for the week receive relatively few views compared to their competitors.
8. Grouper (Alexa Traffic Rank #2,979) Download videos to iPod, PSP or desktop, public stats, profile pages, and subscribable groups for community building. free video editing software.
Major Shortcomings
Slow flash interface that makes searching through large amounts of videos take longer. Low traffic levels compared to the huge amount of videos.
9. Veoh (Alexa Traffic Rank #3,816) Upload any size video easily via a veoh upload tool, ONLY SITE that allows users to download video in original format, so it supports high resolution videos. User’s can pick their own thumbnails for their video clips. Profile pages, friends, favorites, messages, and vlog. User subscribe-able videos. Large collections of indie films and shorts available for download in full screen resolution for DVD burning.
Major Shortcomings
Traffic levels lag behind competitors.
10. Revver (Alexa Traffic Rank #5,191) Upload any length video via the revver client software. Allows users to choose their own thumbnail. You get paid for your clips performance. Revver puts ads at the end of each clip. Every time someone clicks on them after your video is over you get paid for it. Fast approval time for videos. Users can download videos and share them on P2P networks and the ad and money system still works. Contains the highest ratio of actual user created content compared to tradditional regular broadcasting.
Major shortcomings
Relatively few ways to sort videos, no profile pages or ability to subscribe to a particular user’s video. Low traffic.

Andrew Dansby asked:
Video cables used to be simple, there was only one type. However with new television technologies coming out constantly these days video cables are growing ever more complex. I hope to explain the differences between various cables and what they may provide for you. A final note, even though most of these video cables are used world wide, I will be covering the American Television Standard, NTSC (National Television System Committee).
A Brief History
At the start of Television, there was no video cables, there was an antenna that connected to your TV via a spade lug that connected to ***** terminals to the back of your TV. Depending on how close you were to the TV station, you may receive a nice sharp picture or a grainy picture.
In the 70’s came Cable, not only could you get a sharper picture when compared to antenna, you could get many different channels, and the quality was consistent. The signal came from a coaxial cable that screwed into the back of your TV. If you had a home made Coax cable, the picture could bleed or cut out all together. Professionally made cables provided a better signal, though a good home made cable could certainly hold its own against a professionally manufactured cable. The better cables had gold plated connectors to provide protection against corrosion.
The late 70’s and early 80’s produced in mass market a device that would change how your TV was viewed, the VCR. Even though the technology had been out for a while, it did not make it to mass production until the 70’s and 80’s. The first VCR’s just used a standard Coax cable that feed the coax used for cable into the VCR and another coax feed out from the VCR to your TV.. Consumers wanted something easier to use, so then came the advent of Composite cables.
A composite cable is a Video cable that has RCA connector jack at both ends. The cable is easy to plug in since there is no screwing as with the Coax. The user simply pushed the composite cable into a connector on the back (or sometimes front) of the TV. No more having to pull your TV out and unscrew a coax cable every time you wanted to switch to a different video device.
In the 90’s there was a demand to have better video quality than a composite cable could provide. A engineer realized that if you separate the various types of video signal instead of feeding the entire signal through a single connector, you could get a better quality video, thus came the advent of the S-Video connector. S-Video provides through a single cable, 4 signals that when separated give a better quality video. The cable was simply plugged into a TV with a S-Video connector and Video quality was improved.
Digital TV came in mass production in the late 90’s. Along with it came a host of differing cables, that gave an extremely sharp picture. The cables varied greatly and do give a slight difference in Video quality, that is measurable even if slight.
A simple guide to video cable quality
Video cables from worst to best
Composite
S-Video
Component
HDMI / DVI
Simple as that, you see the same on many different displays in stores. Let’s go into detail why though.
Composite
Identification. Composite is a Video cable often identified by a yellow colored boot over and a RCA jack at both ends. Sometimes this cable is binded together with a red and a white boot and RCA jacks at both ends.
This video cable sends the video all through one connector, the red and white connectors are used for audio.
Advantage: It is easy to plug into your television and most televisions support this type of connector.
Disadvantage: Out of the four commonly used Video cables provides the worst signal.
Notes: Composite video combines the 3 types of video signal used for an analog video. These signals are commonly known as Y/U/V. Y represents the brightness or luminance of the video and the video, it is also used to send the synchronizing pulse. U and V are used to carry the color information also called chrominance.. The signals are all combined or modulated at the video device (DVD, VCR etc) and sent over the single composite cable. When the signal reaches the Television, it will separate theses signals and apply them to show video. Having to combine and then separate the signals again, means that there is a loss of video signal quality.
S-Video
Identification: S-Video is a Video cable often identified by a dark gray or black boot, covering over a miniature DIN (barrel style connector with recessed pins) at both ends.
S-Video has 4 pins used for video. Each one of these four pins separate out one part of a video signal.
Advantage: A better video quality than provided by composite.
Disadvantage: more difficult to plug in and remove. Connectors can break easily. Not quite as good as component video.
Notes: S-Video was developed to improve some of the problems encountered with Composite Video. By separating out the various video signals and combining them into one connector, the video signal is improved considerably. One of the pins is used to carry luminance (Y) which includes brightness and the video. A second pin is used for grounding the luminance signal. A third pin carries the color signal, a modulated chrominance (UV) signal. The fourth pin is used for grounding the chrominance signal.
With two of the three signals separated a considerably improved video signal is readily seen,.
Component
Identification: Component video is three separate Video cable that has RCA jacks at both ends. The cables are usually separate, but not always so. The boot at the end of each RCA connector are colored Red, Green and Blue.
Advantage: By separating out each of the video signals onto a different cable, video quality is improved over S-Video.
Disadvantage: Not quite as good as HDMI, though it is close. Three separate connectors to plug in.
Notes: Component video separates out the colors as opposed to S-Video which separates out the signals. Component Video cables are associated with HD-TV. When you look at the ends of a component video cables, you would assume that the colors are carried in Red/Green/Blue signals. However the signals are known as Y (luma) , Pb(blue difference and luma) and Pr(red difference and luma). Y,Pb,Pr are for analog signals. It also may be known as Y (luma), Cb (blue difference and chroma) and Cr (red difference and chroma) for digital.
A bit of explanation is needed for Luma. Luma is brightness just like Luminance, however the brightness described with luma is colorless. Luminance describes the brightness of the colors.
Y is the luma signal. Pb is a luma signal plus the blue difference from the rest of the signal. Pr is a luma signal plus the red difference from the rest of the signal.
For a digital signal, the connectors are known as Y (luma), Cb (chroma plus blue difference) and Cr.(chroma plus Red difference). A bit of explanation is needed for chroma. Chroma describes the difference from gray at a given hue and lightness
Y is the Luma signal. Cb is a luma signal plus the blue difference from the rest of the signal. Cr is the luma signal plus the red difference from the rest of the signal.
DVI
Identification: DVI connectors are small rectangular connectors
Advantage: A pure digital signal provides the best video quality.
Disadvantage: More expensive than other video cables.
Notes: DVI cables and connectors are for a digital signal, thus provide the best video quality. They are found on an increasing number of high end televisions and mid level televisions. The signal carried on a DVI cable is associated with HD-TV and provides the best picture to a HD-TV. DVI connectors are found on cable receiver, computer video cards, DVD players and Televisions. However, sometimes one may find that the device may have a different connector than the television. I.e. Your cable receiver may have a DVI and your television may have a HDMI. No problem, converters are available to change the connector.
HDMI
Identification: HDMI connectors are small rectangular connector that taper at an angle on both ends for polarity purposes. The connectors are smaller than a DVI connector.
Advantage: A pure digital signal provides the best video quality.
Disadvantage: More expensive than other video cables.:
Notes: HDMI cables and connectors are for a digital signal, thus provide the best video quality. They are found on an increasing number of high end televisions and mid level televisions. The signal carried on a HDMI cable is associated with HD-TV and provides the best picture to a HD-TV. HDMI connectors are found on cable receiver, computer video cards, DVD players and Televisions. However, sometimes one may find that the device may have a different connector than the television. I.e. Your cable receiver may have a DVI and your television may have a HDMI. No problem, converters are available to change the connector.
As you may see, DVI and HDMI have the exact description in the notes section. There are not many differences between the two that effect the video quality that one can perceive visually. If your cable receiver has a DVI, but your Television has a HDMI, don’t fret, just purchase a converter.
The difference between a component video cable and HDMI/DVI cable is small, but it is still there. If you are viewing the television from up close, you may see a difference, from a standard viewing position, you will probably not notice a difference between the two.
Display Capacity Of Various Video Cables
Composite Video - Capable of 480i, maximum resolution of Standard Definition TV (SDTV). 480i means 480 lines of resolution in an interlaced format.
S-Video - Capable of 480p, maximum resolution of Enhanced Definition TV (EDTV) and 480p (SDTV). 480p means 480 lines of resolution in a progressive format.
Component Video - Capable of High Definition TV (HDTV) at 720p, 1080p and 1080i, EDTV at 480p and SDTV at 480i.
HDMI and DVI - Capable of High Definition TV (HDTV) at 720p, 1080p and 1080i, EDTV at 480p and SDTV at 480i. Resolution is sharper than component video.
I hope that this article helps you with the selection of your video cable. One final word of warning, be wary of ultra - premium cables. Sometimes the only thing you are purchasing is the name brand of the cable. Be way of no-name cables as well, you may get an inferior cable

chendeng asked:
1. How much do you know about AVCHD video?
2. Why convert AVCHD video to standard Video formats such as AVI, MP4?
3. How to Convert AVCHD video to popular video and play on iPod, iPhone?
4. How to Upload AVCHD video to YouTube?
1. How much do you know about AVCHD Videos?
AVCHD is short for “Advanced Video Codec High Definition”, it is the newest HD format to be released for inexpensive HD video production. And AVCHD (AVC-HD, AVC HD) video is recorded by AVCHD camcorder such as Canon VIXIA HG20, Sony HDR-UX5, Panasonic HDC-SD1 etc using the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video compression codec.
AVCHD Videos usually memory on recordable DVD discs, memory cards and hard disk drives. And AVCHD specification support all three high definition formats: 1080i, 1080p and 720p.
2: Why convert AVCHD video to standard Video formats?
If someone used to have AVC HD videos, he would be frustrated that there are so little devices which support AVCHD video. Normally, you can only play your AVCHD videos directly from a camcorder on a HDTV with a HDMI, or burned onto DVD disc, then played from most Blu-ray Disc player, or on a computer, playing from the camcorder connected via USB as an external storage device.
However, have you imagined playing your AVCHD videos on your PC, laptop, iPod, iPhone, Zune or any other portable mp4 players? Or even uploading your AVCHD videos to YouTube, Myspace, Facebook etc to share with all of your friends?
In order to find out a workable method to do that, I have searched relate questions on Google. Finally, I got an answer which certainly can do that – Convert AVCHD files to standard video formats such as avi, mp4, mpg, wmv, flv…etc. So that you can put the converted AVCHD videos to your iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP etc or even upload it to Youtube. And the key step to do that is to use AVCHD video converter.
3. How to Convert AVCHD video to popular video and play on iPod, iPhone?
Here I take Wondershare Video Converter Platinum as an example to show you the step-by-step guide to convert AVCHD videos to popular video formats such as convert AVCHD Video to avi, convert AVCHD Video to mp4, convert AVCHD Video to wmv, convert AVCHD Video to flv …etc.
Step 1: Transfer AVCHD files from AVCHD camcorder to PC.
Connect the AVCHD camcorders to your PC with a USB cable. It is desirable that you copy the videos to your PC’s hard-drive before converting or editing it.
Step 2: Download AVCHD Video Converter
Here we use Wondershare Video Converter Platinum to show the AVCHD video conversion process. In addition, this Video Converter also can convert hd (high definition) videos such as mts, m2ts, tp, ts, trp to standard videos including avi, mp4, wmv, flv, mpeg, rm etc.
You can download free trial Version here: Wondershare Video Converter Platinum , Then install and run this program.
Step 3: Load the AVCHD videos
Click the “Add ” button to browse your computer hard disc and add the AVCHD files you want to convert to the program. Batch conversion is supported by this AVCHD video converter, so you can load several AVCHD files at one time.
Step 4: Customize output Settings
After you added AVCHD files, you can select an output format and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files. Here we select iPod MP4 as output format, so you can put the converted AVCHD video on your iPod.
Step 5: Start the conversion
Click the “Start “button to start conversion and then you can just have a coffee or take a nap, and the conversion may have been finished when you come back.
Step 6: Copy the converted AVCHD video to your iPod and enjoy it.
Connect your iPod with your computer, copy the converted AVCHD video (iPod Video MPEG-4) to your iPod, so you can enjoy the AVCHD video on the go.
4. How to Upload AVCHD video to YouTube?
Follow part 3, all you need to do is converting the AVCHD video to FLV format (YouTube video format), then login to Youtube, upload the converted video (flv format video) to Youtube.
All the conversion may take about 30 minutes with 1.2 GB AVCHD videos, and the conversion speeds usually depend on the original video site and your PC configuration. The conversion speed and output quality seem ok. Generally speaking, it is worth to use this video converter to convert AVCHD video to popular video, so you can enjoy it on your iPod, iPhone, PSP, even share with your friends on Youtube.

Vigilant Video asked:
Video analytics is the practice of using computers to automatically identify things or areas of interest without having an operator to view the surveillance equipment. The most common areas of usage of Video Analytics are License plate recognition, people detection, and border and security violations. Video Analytics technology has a vast potential in the area of safety and security.
The video analytics software uses computer processors running within a computer or on a fixed platform in the computer using video cameras and other specialized image recording and capturing equipment. The software is integrated with Intelligent Video Systems. This technology can be used to assess the video contents and extract the relevant parts of the recording. Video analytics technology is used in LineUp, which is a ****** recognition system. Lineup has been developed by Vigilant Video and is the ultimate tool in crime investigations. Lineup is compatible with existing CCTV systems. It uses artificial intelligence as a tool in video analytics security.
LineUp stores events in a chronological and easy to access format that eliminates the need to search through hours of video surveillance tape. LineUp provides real-time alerts via audio alarm, page, SMS, e-mail, etc The technology is also used in CamSmartz, which has been developed by Vigilant Video for Intrusion detection and Object classification. Parameters can be set up in CamSmartz, which makes it more efficient and reliable than other existing products. It saves time and the security personnel don’t have to review hours of tape and can focus on analysis and correction.
This Video analytics security tool allows the user to view the events from anywhere in the world. A new edition of the CamSmartz tool allows automated target-object tracking for PTZ security cameras. This eliminates the use of multi-cameras and requires a single PTZ camera.
CamSmartz by design also provide real-time tracking data to Google Earth, which creates animated behavior maps. Camsmartz is an example of real time video analytics technology, which allows real-time monitoring and real-time alerts.
Video analytics has extensive usage in security and safety applications. Some examples being indentifying and tracking humans and objects and triggering real-time alerts, maintain records of security violations and using them as evidence, border security, intrusion detection, people and property security, stolen property detection, vehicle tracking, crowd monitoring, ****** detection systems etc. The list keeps on growing. Video Analytics Security is a growing industry and new uses and areas are being explored with each passing day.

How to Make Web Videos like Video News on Yahoo, MSN and YouTube?
Complete Guide - Step by Step — Publish video and player to your website, blog or forum and more
Video news has now become a necessary part on news websites due to its visual representation of information to people. Below are two screenshots of video news from MSN and Yahoo. From the screenshots, we may find that they contain two main parts: video and player. We may also find that the interface is simple but less functional. It is easy to navigate.
Now, what we will discuss right here is: How to easily make video news like these or even better and more functional ones?

Yahoo video news
First Step: Download and Install Socusoft Web Video Player
I will show you an easy way to make such videos step by step. Before we go any further, we need to download a professional tool — Socusoft Web Video Player from http://www.web-video-player.com
When installation is completed, launch Socusoft Web Video Player.
Second Step: Check Video Format — Convert Video into FLV
Like other software, the input video files only accept FLV format so as to enable output video player to playback clips. If your video clips are different formats, you need to convert them to FLV format first. There is a simple tutorial on its website of converting video files of different formats such as MOV, WMV, FLV, MPEG-4, MPG, RM, RMVB, AVI, VOB, ASF, DV, 3GP, M1V and M2V into FLV format. Here is the link:

Fifth Step: Advertising Function (For registered users) — Add advertisement and link to video and player
Some people may want to add advertisements and links to video and player, which is considered as another strategy in product advertising and website promotion. Well, Socusoft Web Video Player has such advertising function with advanced templates but only for registered users. That is, you need to buy the program and then use the license name and code to register it so as to enjoy full function.
1) Prepare advertisement image
The format of the ad image can be jpeg, gif, jpg, png and swf. If you want to add an advertisement image with no target link on it, the format of the image can be jpeg, gif, jpg and png. If you want to add a target link to a web page for the advertisement image, the format must be swf. You may use Flash Slideshow Maker, Macromedia Flash, SnagIt or other tools to add URL easily to the image and save it as swf format.

Last Step: Upload Files - Publish Video to Your Website or Blog
1) Publish video to your website
Click “Open Output Folder” and use upload tools such as CuteFTP to upload all of the files in the folder of “output” to your web space. You may create a new folder on your web space first such as “video” for the output files. If the created folder is in the root directory, the URL of your web video should be:
http://www.*****.com/video/***(name of the published html file).html
2) Add web video to your blog or forum and more
You may also add your published web videos to your blog or forum and more. Here is an example of adding videos to google blog.
Click “Open Output Folder”. Then, open the html file with FrontPage, Dreamweaver or Notepad. The html file is the same with the one uploaded.

Right here, I use Notepad to open the above-mentioned html file and switch to the code mode and change the paths like the following screenshot. Please note that you need to input your website URL instead of ” *****.com” as shown below.

After that, copy the code between “object” as above. Go to your google blog and paste the code as shown below. After that, publish the post. You may now view your web video on google blog.

Sample: http://funny-video-youtube.blogspot.com
Some blogs may not support HTML well. If so, you may also use the following code, which is simple. That is, “iframe” plus “the path”.

Irwin Myers asked:
Once, online video was a novelty. Today, there is a titanic flood of online video, a testament to its immense popularity. What enabled this flood was the widespread availability of high-speed, broadband internet access. Ground Zero for this explosion in online video is YouTube, which was launched in 2005 and purchased by internet search giant Google in 2006
So serious is online video’s impact that Google offers top ten rankings to those videos that have received enough user votes - no matter where the videos come from, or what they contain. Today’s marketing budgets need to be aware that a top ten ranking in Google on certain competitive search keywords can easily run the cost in money and time to the six figures and beyond.
If you haven’t engaged in online video production for your business, consider that at the absolute least, submitting a small number of videos to the various video sharing sites such as YouTube will increase your website’s traffic because you can advertise that site’s URL in the videos and video page. Make sure you use the complete format for your link and viewers of your videos can be at your website in less than a second after seeing your videos.
What are some ways to get those viewers and raise your profile above the video flood? Here are four tips:
1) Share your video as a response.
Browsing YouTube will bring you in ‘content contact’ with videos that have high viewership. Look for other videos that connect in some way to your video. You can be creative with the association, but there should be a plain connection. Post the URL of your video as a Video Response to the high-traffic video in order to “coat-tail” some of the popular video’s traffic and bring it to your own video.
2) Choose specific keywords.
Use Google’s Keyword Tool and feed it the URL of a competing video page, your own product page or any other relevant web property you either own or know of. The tool will suggest keywords that you should use in your own video’s title and in your description copy.
3) Watch competing videos.
Depending on whether an MBA is saying it, this activity might be called “benchmarking” or “best practice research”. Watch popular videos on various video sharing sites. Examine their content, their description, and their titles. Think about your next video production and imagine ways to mirror what their popular video does. Then implement those ideas, and you will increase your chances of obtaining similarly high traffic.
4) Find new video sharing sites and get in on their ground floor.
Google owns YouTube, but indexes the entire web. Feed the video page with sufficient information and an appropriate title and you can expect a search engine presence on the keywords you pick - assuming those keywords aren’t too competitive.
So whether you plan to market your video on DVD, CD, though the many video sharing sites or on the home page of your website, your video needs to look good. Good doesn’t necessarily mean slick. It means that it has to be appropriate to your industry and the audience that you are targeting.
That’s where a professional video company such as Video One Productions can be of service. Come to us with your ideas and we’ll help you craft a video that will be appropriate, affordable and will make you proud to distribute. We’d be happy to provide you with a free consultation and perhaps be of service to you when you decide to have your video produced.
